Letters, receipts, bills, accounts, military papers, deeds, bonds, pamphlets, programs, and other items largely pertaining to the people and history of Bedford and the neighboring villages of Katonah, Mount Kisco, and Bedford Hills. Subjects include the Bedford Court House, the Woman Flyfisher's Club, churches, the Revolutionary War in Bedford, the Clark family, and land transactions. Of note are audio tapes and script of a radio program on the history of Mount Kisco, 1966; letter written to Lord Stirling (William Alexander) pertaining to military affairs, 1777; sketchbook of Howard Carpenter, 1889; Jeremiah Clark's manuscript account of the British raid on Bedford in 1779 as told by his father Nathan Clark, 1875; tombstone inscriptions from the old burying ground, Bedford, copied in 1917; pamphlet catalogs of the Bedford Library, ca. 1795 and 1824; several letters to Nehemiah S.
